Restarts
Scheduled restarts with countdown warnings, or restart now.
The Restarts tab restarts your server on a schedule, or whenever you say, and warns everyone first with a countdown in chat. It needs Schedule restarts and restart the server (manage_restarts). Owners and admins have it by default.
Coming up
The top card shows the next restart and how long until it, the server's own time and day, and how long it's been up. It updates every 10 seconds while the tab is open.
- Skip Next Scheduled skips just the next scheduled restart. If players were already warned, they're told it's off. Press it again to un-skip.
- Cancel Manual Restart calls off a restart someone started from this tab.
Restart now
Pick Now or in 1, 5, 10, 15 or 30 minutes, add a reason if you like, and click Restart twice. Players get the normal warnings on the way, with your reason after each one. The admin log and Discord say who did it.
The schedule
Tick Restart on a schedule, then any mix of:
- Times of day, 24 hour, comma between them, like
04:00, 16:00. These use the server's clock, which the tab shows so you can see which time zone that is. - Days: untick any you don't want. With all seven ticked it runs every day.
- Every this many hours of uptime, like
6, counted from when the server (or scenario) last started.0turns it off.
Whichever comes first wins.
How it restarts
When the time comes, everyone sees the game's own "server restarting" screen for a few seconds (0 to 60, 10 to start with), then one of:
| Method | What happens |
|---|---|
| Restart the scenario | The same server loads the scenario fresh. Works on every server. Players reload into the new round |
| Shut down | The server process stops, and your host starts it again. This clears memory properly, but the server only comes back if your host restarts it when it stops. Most rental hosts do. Check yours before using it |
If you've set the game's own -autoreload or -autoshutdown launch options, those take over at the end of the game instead, and the mod doesn't restart it a second time.
Warnings
- Warn at these minutes, like
30, 15, 10, 5, 2, 1. If a restart is set for sooner than the first one (say "in 3 minutes"), they get one warning straight away with the real time left, then the rest. - Warning message.
%time%becomes how long is left, like5 minutes. It starts asThe server restarts in %time%. - Message as it restarts, sent right at the end.
- Show as chat, an on-screen hint, or both.
- Count down the last 10 seconds, one hint a second.
- Big warning card in the middle of everyone's screen at the last warning, so nobody misses it.
Press Save. The schedule changes straight away, and saving never restarts anything by itself.
Discord
Turn on Restart coming up / restarting on the Notifications tab to get a message when the first warning goes out, when it restarts, and when a restart is skipped or cancelled.
The settings live in Restarts/restarts.json. See Config files.
