Cleanup & AI

Clear bodies, wrecks and abandoned vehicles, and keep the AI count in check.

The Cleanup & AI tab keeps a busy server clean and its frame rate up. The cleanup half needs Clean up bodies, empty vehicles and dropped items (run_cleanup); the AI half needs Set the AI limit and remove AI far from players (manage_ai). Admins have both by default, from build 5.9.0.7. You only see the halves you have.

Cleanup

The top card shows what's waiting to be cleared right now, all away from every player: bodies, wrecks, dropped items and abandoned vehicles. It also shows when the next scheduled cleanup is due.

  • Clean Now (ticked below) (click twice) clears whatever is ticked under What gets cleared.
  • Bodies And Wrecks Only (click twice) leaves vehicles and items alone.

The admin log and Discord get a line saying what was removed.

What gets cleared

  • Dead bodies, players' and AI.
  • Destroyed vehicles.
  • Dropped items lying on the ground. Nothing in anyone's kit or in a box.
  • Abandoned vehicles: nobody has been in them or within 50 m of them for the minutes you set (20 by default).

Nothing within Leave alone within this many metres of a player (150 by default) of any player is touched, and nothing with someone in it. The top card says how many things are being left alone for that reason, so a count of 0 while you stand next to the bodies is expected. Set it to 0 to clear everything, even right next to players. Tick Leave vehicles parked near spawn points so bases and motor pools keep their vehicles (100 m by default).

Schedule

Off by default. Tick Clean up on a schedule and set how often (30 minutes by default). Everyone gets a chat warning first (60 seconds before by default; %time% in the message becomes how long is left). Save Cleanup Settings applies it straight away.

AI

AI right now shows:

  • how many AI the game is actively running, against the limit;
  • every living AI by side;
  • the server's FPS;
  • how many AI are further than your "far" distance from every player.

The active AI limit is the game's own. AI over it stay in the world but inactive (no CPU) until there's room, so a lower number protects FPS on busy maps. 0 keeps the game's default. It's applied as soon as you save, and again on every server start.

Remove Far AI Now (click twice) deletes every AI further than the far distance (1500 m by default) from every player. Tick Remove AI far from every player automatically to do it every few minutes. Removed AI are gone for good, scenario patrols included, and nothing is removed while nobody is on.

Settings are kept in $profile:HousoMods/Reforgedmin/Cleanup/cleanup.json and ai_budget.json.
