Killfeed
Kills on screen with the weapon, in the corner you pick.
The killfeed puts every kill on screen as it happens, in whichever corner you pick:
KILLER [picture of the weapon] VICTIM 212 m HEADSHOT
The Killfeed tab in the panel holds its settings and lists the last kills on the server. Seeing the tab needs See the killfeed (view_killfeed). Every rank starts with it. Changing the settings needs Change the killfeed (edit_killfeed), which owners and admins have by default.
What a line shows
- The killer's name. Players show their name. AI show their side, like
USSR AI. - A picture of the weapon. This is the actual gun they were holding, drawn the same way the inventory draws it. Roadkills show the vehicle, explosions show the grenade, mine or rocket, and bayonet kills show the bayonet.
- The victim's name.
- The distance, in metres.
- Badges.
HEADSHOT,TEAM KILL(in red),DOUBLE KILL,TRIPLE KILL,MULTI KILL, kill streaks like5 STREAK,ROADKILLandLONG SHOT.
Names are drawn in their team's colour, so you can tell sides apart at a glance. The strip down the left edge of each line is red for a team kill, gold when you're in it, and orange for a headshot.
Suicides, falls and other deaths with nobody to blame show just the victim and a word for what happened: [fell], [burned], [bled out] or [died].
Who sees it
| Setting | Who gets it on screen |
|---|---|
| Nobody | No one. The tab still lists every kill for staff |
| Staff Only | Anyone with view_killfeed |
| Everyone | Every player on the server |
Players only see kills they were part of keeps it personal: players get their own kills and deaths, and staff still see everything.
The feed hides while a menu is open, so it never covers the map or inventory.
Where and how big
- Corner: top left, top right, bottom left or bottom right.
- Lines at once: 1 to 12. When a new one comes in, the oldest goes.
- Seconds on screen: 2 to 30. Lines fade out at the end.
- Size: 50 to 200%. This scales the whole line, text and weapon picture together.
- Picture size: 50 to 300%, on top of Size. Use it to make the guns bigger without making the names bigger.
Which kills
Tick the kinds you want on screen:
- Player kills player
- AI kills a player
- Player kills AI
- AI kills AI (this can get busy on scenarios with a lot of AI)
- Suicides, falls and other accidents
These filters only change what goes on screen. The list on the tab always has everything.
Streaks
A double kill is two kills within 6 seconds of each other, a triple is three, and four or more is a multi kill. Leave a gap longer than 6 seconds, or die, and it starts again from one.
A streak counts kills since you last died. It's counted from your first kill, but the badge only shows once you reach 3 (3 STREAK). Killing AI counts too, even when AI kills are filtered off the screen.
A streak goes back to zero when:
- you die, whatever the cause: an enemy, AI, a teammate, suicide, a fall or bleeding out
- you team kill someone. That kill doesn't count, and it ends the streak
- you leave the server
Streaks aren't saved anywhere, so a server restart clears everyone's. They don't reset at the end of a round, only when you die. They're counted even when the killfeed is off or streaks are unticked, and unticking only hides the badges.
Long shot marks any kill from further than the distance you set (300 m to start with). Set it to 0 to turn it off.
Trying it out
Show Test Kills closes the panel and puts three made up kills on your own screen, using the form as it is right now, even before you save it. It uses your name, your team colour and whatever weapon you're holding. Nobody else sees them. Clear My Screen removes them.
Press Save when you're happy. It takes effect from the next kill, and nobody has to rejoin.
The last kills
The top card on the tab lists the last 15 deaths on the server, newest first, each drawn the same way as on screen with the time it happened. It updates live while the tab is open. The server keeps the last 25.
The settings live in Killfeed/killfeed.json. See Config files.
